What to do if you're worried

All children and young people have the right to be treated with respect, and not to be abused in any way.

Unfortunately, occasionally something does happen to a child or young person that is not acceptable.

If this happens to yourself, or someone you know, please talk to someone you trust.

If you are a child or young person who may be suffering abuse you should:

  • seek advice from Social Services (Childrens Services):
    • - Duty Officer:  (01803) 208500 Monday -Thursday 9-5, Friday 9-4
    • - Child Protection Unit:  (01803) 208500 Monday -Thursday 9-5, Friday 9-4
    • - Emergency Duty Team:  (01803) 292166 all other times
  • talk to someone such as your doctor / health visitor / teacher / etc.
  • do something.
