What to do if you're worried
All those who come into contact with children, young people and families in their everyday work, including people who do not have a specific role in relation to child protection, have a duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
If you work with children and/or young people and you are concerned that a child or young person may be suffering abuse you should:
- seek advice from your line manager / child protection advisor / SENCo / similar
- follow the guidelines in What to do if you're worried a child is being abused. Copies of this document should be available in your workplace, but can be viewed and/or ordered and downloaded from .Teachernet's publications area.
